My career in web site design started about six years ago when i had a little bit of money and i decided to start up my own website. It wasn't much of a site but it was a start. It was just a gadget review site, pretty boring looking but at the time i thought 'wow, i just created that'. I was so proud of it and i couldn't understand why it wasn't getting anywhere.

I decided to take a course at my local college as a website designer which lasted three years in total and i was overly excited to pass my final exam at the end. I immediately started saving money to start up my own website which this time i had decided to build an on-line auction site.

When i first created it, it was pretty basic but it was obvious for visitors to the site to see what it was and what it was all about. I began sending email after email to everyone i thought might have even the littlest of an interest in the site, i was spreading the word through instant messaging and getting friends to spread the word. It took a long time to get to where i wanted it to be but now i have a steady stream of visitors and auctions happening every day.

People on my instant messaging began asking for more details about how the on-line auction worked. I was getting email after email from companies wanting to join forces. I had hit a high with my on-line auction. But with any high there has to be a low and i had the biggest of lows when my website got hacked. Everything got deleted including customer details. I decided to end it and sent messages through my instant messaging service and emails to let people know it was over.

The on-line auction that they had been using and loved was now no longer available. I was getting emails from companies asking me to start back up and that they would help but i decided not to. Those hackers ruined my dream.
