As the Vice President for QuIKi website designing, people would probably say looking for love through internet dating is pathetic. But when you're in a mid-life crisis, you'd know if it's time for you to find love: in any possible way.

I opened my internet accessand typed in the keywords "Love" and "online" in my Yahoo! search engine and results like "Romance Online" appeared, sighing inwardly and outwardly, I clicked on it. Even though my large office suite looks empty, I could feel eyes on me. I spun to face the large glass wall to my right where I could see my assistant on a phone. It's really weird, I'm a woman of 32 and my assistant is a man of 27, isn't it usually the other way round; an old female assistant with a young and carefree boss? Glad it didn't happen though.

My childhood best friend, Kian Okayama and I promised each other that one day, we will build a company together like his dad's and get married.

FLASHBACK

Japan was a beautiful place, especially during spring, when the cherry blossomsbloom and the petals float to the ground.

Me and Kian were sat on the roots of a large cherry tree surrounded by other smaller but equally beautiful cherry trees. At the age offivemy young mind was full of far out dreams and wonders, all of which are impossible to accomplish. Not for him though, at the age of six, his ambitious nature and powerful family gave me hope, even for my impossibly demanding dreams.

He stood up and motioned me to do the same. With him towering me with a few centimetres, I looked at him.

"What is it, Kian-chan?" I asked

"Yuuki-Chi, when we grow up, I want to start a company like my dad, and I want you to be by my side."

"Okay, then are we going to get married?" I said seriously

He chuckled a bit and said "Yes and we'll live in the prettiest house you've ever seen."

Fourteen years later and we were stood under the very same tree during a chilly autumn. The large tree was now a golden honeyhue, with some of its leaves scattered.

"Finally, Yuuki-Chi, I'm in my father's company, it's only a few steps to creating my own company, just as we promised under this tree." Kian-chan said

"What kind of company do you want it to be?" I asked

"With your artistic skills and my technical knowledge, we can build a website designing company." he said thoughtfully. "Are we still going to getmarried and live in a pretty house?" he asked, cupping my chin.

A golden leaf landed on his jet blackhair and I picked it out. "Kian-chan, we were young, when we proposed those things. Young and clueless."

"Well, we got as far as thinking about a website designing company, is marriage really out of the question?" he asked, quietly disappointed

"For now."

END FLASHBACK

We wereyoung when we proposed that idea, and so far we've succeeded to build a website designing company.

...But hand in marriage?
